Together with Limburg surveying company Avisum (Maaseik), Toster developed Proxiporter, a virtual reality application that makes hard-to-reach locations visible in full detail.

Avisum surveys quarries, large sites and industrial buildings digitally with drones and lidar scanners. The point clouds are turned into 3D models - a digital twin - that come into their own in VR. You can assess a site as if you were standing there, while sitting at the office.

In the scanned environment you can take measurements, cover distances quickly, add or remove objects and carry out work tasks. Useful for large contractors, facility managers and safety professionals, and ideal for organising training.

The prototype was built by intern Jens Van De Voorde (Erasmus University College Brussels) under the guidance of Toster Software.
